Greetings all from Beautiful Grand Manan!
Summer made a spectacular entrance this past weekend, and seems to be continuing. Despite a strong SW wind (that kept the bugs away) yesterday evening, it was a great weekend for gardening and gathering with friends on the deck.
On Thursday we welcomed back Peg and Claire after their surgeries, both successful! It was great to see them both walking with less pain and more vim! Mary H. spoke about the show, and members were reminded to submit their registration forms ASAP to Martha. Also, remember that we will be featuring “Tools of the Trade” in our “little room” off the main hall. Sharing that small room will be a small memorial display to our past member Gladys Leighton. The Tools of the Trade display needs contributions! Do you have a special kind of knitting or quilting accessory that you can’t live without? Do you love a certain brand of cutter or hook if you hook rugs? Please be ready to share your tools, no matter what sort of work you do. Remember that many of our viewers do not know a lot about our crafts, so even things we take for granted will be new to many.
As usual, we will have a Viewer’s Choice ribbon for the item that visitors admire, thanks to Dawn, and we will be selling tickets on our own wall hanging, “You Have (Air) Mail”.
We will be accepting registered entries to the show between 6 and 8 pm on Wednesday, July 6. July 7 will be our busiest day, when we need lots of help to “hang the show”. The doors open at 11 am on Friday, July 8 (11-6) and Saturday July 9 (10-4). Please spread the word! The notice is on Facebook, and posters are appearing on island bulletin boards.
